COSHH (Control Of Substances Hazardous To Health) Training
BASICS
COSHH training by UK Construction Training can either be carried out at our training centre in
London or, provided your premises or site has both an area for the practical training and an
indoor room in which to carry out the theoretical elements of the course, we can also conduct
the training at any location of your choice nationwide. A minimum of 4 delegates are required
for an exclusive training course at your location.
Those who should attend are those persons responsible for using, handling, transporting and
storing hazardous substances
THE COURSE
Most courses start between 8.00 and 9.00am and finish at approximately 3.00 – 3.30pm. In just one
day delegates can learn the basics of identifying, measuring and controlling exposure to harmful
substances, thereby safeguarding themselves and their colleagues. This re-designed one-day course
is an excellent stand-alone learning opportunity, which has the added benefit of also contributing
towards the NEBOSH Modular National General certificate, should you wish to continue your safety
education at a later date.
Delegates will learn:
● The ways in which substances can harm health and how they enter the body
● How to define exposure limits
● How to measure exposure and conduct COSHH assessments in accordance with the Regulations
● Practical control measures including local exhaust ventilation and safe systems of work
● How to compile and maintain the necessary records.
