Abrasive Wheel Training
BASICS
Abrasive Wheel training by UK Construction Training can be carried out either at our training centre in London or, at any location of your choice nationwide (maximum 14 delegates per course).
Upon successfully completion of both the written and practical elements of the training, each delegate will be given a certificate of attendance of training and all course documentation. These include both B.A.F (British Abrasive Federation) and F.E.P.A (Federation of European Producers of Abrasives) approved training course literature.
THE COURSE
The course duration is 1/2 day and starts between 8.00 and 9.00 a.m. and will finish at approximately 1.00pm. All course paperwork is fully accredited by B.A.F (British Abrasive Federation) and F.E.P.A (Federation of European Producers of Abrasives) and the courses are conducted by experienced instructors.
The Abrasive Wheels Training course will cover:
· The requirements of the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 98 and associated Acts and Regulations with respect to Abrasive Wheels.
· Approved advisory literature relating to the mounting of abrasive wheels
· Hazards arising from the use of abrasive wheels and precautions that should be observed.
· How to identify abrasive wheels as to type and characteristics.
· Storing, handling and transporting abrasive wheels
· Inspecting and testing abrasive wheels
· The functions of all components used with abrasive wheels, including flanges, washers, bushes and nuts used in mounting and including knowledge of the correct and incorrect methods of assembling all components and correct balancing of abrasive wheels
· The methods of safe use of abrasive wheels on petrol, electric and compressed air powered cutting machines and angle grinders.
