Ladder Association Safe Use Of Ladders & Ladder Training
BASICS
Ladder Association Ladder and Step Ladder training by UK Construction Training can either be carried out
at our training centre in London or, provided your premises or site has both an area for the
practical training and an indoor room in which to carry out the theoretical elements of the
course, we can also conduct the training at any location of your choice nationwide. A
minimum of 4 delegates are required for an exclusive training course at your location.
In association with the Ladder Association (LA) UK Construction
Training now offers this 1 day course for users, supervisors and managers wanting to equip
themselves with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to use ladders and step
ladders legally and safely.
Written with the guidance from the UK's leading experts on ladder manufacture, maintenance
and safety, the ladder association scheme addresses all the issues raised by the Health and Safety at
Work Act 1974 and, more recently, the Work and Height Regulations 2005.
THE COURSE
By the end of the course delegates will be able to:
· Select appropriate work at height equipment for the task
· Assess and determine when it is appropriate to use ladders and step ladders
· Correctly locate and safely use ladders and step ladders
· Inspect ladders and step ladders for damage
Delegates will also have an understanding of the:
· Legislation and Regulations affecting work at height
· Product standards and classifications for ladders and step ladders in the workplace
· Hazards affecting the use of ladders and step ladders
· The need to planning using the S.T.E.P format – Site, Task, Equipment, Personnel
· Pre-Use Checks
· Detailed inspections
· Maintenance of Ladders
