BASICS
PASMA training by UK Construction Training can be carried out at our training centre in London. Or, provided your premises or site has both an area for the practical training and an indoor room in which to carry out the theoretical elements of the course, we can also conduct the training at any location of your choice nationwide (minimum 4 delegates required).
PASMA training gives successful delegates a 5 year competency certificate in the safe use and erection of mobile scaffold towers. The reason it’s now mandatory for anyone working or using tower scaffolding is because of the ‘2005 working at height legislation’ as laid down by the HSE. In short, this legislation covers “all work at height where there is a risk of a fall liable to cause personal injury”. In the part covering scaffold towers, the HSE state “as an employer, you must ensure Scaffold Towers are erected by trained and competent people who are following a safe method of work. PASMA recommends two approved methods which have been developed in co-operation with the Health and Safety Executive.” Source: Health and Safety Executive - http://www.hse.gov.uk/
And aside from the safety element, the training is worth the effort to arrange now for we are finding more and more companies asking us to provide training only after they have found themselves unable to work on site because their operatives did not already have the training.
THE COURSE
Most courses start between 8.00 and 9.00am and finish at approximately 3.00 – 3.30pm. This includes a break for lunch. The course follows a strict agenda as set by PASMA and includes both theoretical and practical elements. In short, there is a theoretical lesson followed by a Q&A test (which delegates must pass), followed by a practical session in which delegates get to erect and dismantle a 4.2m tower. A full agenda is also attached. Our UK wide network of instructors are all PASMA registered trainers.
COST
Price for the training includes PASMA registration, PASMA ID cards and all course paperwork. Dependant upon the number of delegates the cost, per person, exclusive of VAT will be as follows:
